Oil Spill - Gulf of Mexico 2010
This is a video of the oil spill seen in space.
On April 20, 2010 the BP- operated Macondo Prospect erupted in the Gulf of Mexico. It caused a massive oil spill. The sea floor oil gusher flowed for 87 days and an estimated total discharge of 4.9 million barrels. The Macondo damage was 5,00 feet down, and it was the largest accidental oil spill in history. This event was really harmful, it had a major impact on the environment, animals, water, and us. As you know a lot of people were helping clean up. Some were cleaning the animals that got caught in the spill. While others, where trying to get as much oil out of the water as they can. This was a disaster that no one will ever forget about!
